HUGE CARP CAUGHT IN ARCTIC CONDITIONS WINS £1000 PRIZE

Monk Lakes Fishing Complex in Marden , Kent held a three day fishing competition from the 18^th to the 20^th February, 2005. Conditions could not have been worse with sub zero temperatures and strong northerly winds. Several Carp were landed as well as Chub and Pike from the river, but none came close to the 34lb 8oz Mirror Carp landed by John Kursey from Hastings .

John caught the fish on Mallard Lake “The £1,000 prize will be right handy – same time next week” said John.
