Hi,
Didn’t have a chance to tell anyone yesterday, but I
caught a 35LB Mirror yesterday at your fishery.
Caught on a 14mm pellet from a swim on the river side of Mallards
specimen.
As you can see the fish is in fine condition and fought very, very well.
My personal best mirror for the UK.
Best regards

To all the staff at Monks, i visited your venue on saturday
10th for a 24hr session for the first time and just wanted to
thank you guys for the advice and warm welcome that i was given.
Even though i didn't catch anything (apart from a cold that is
ha ha) i throughly enjoyed my time there and intend to make
Monks lakes my regular fishing spot (every 2 weeks or so). It
was a real pleasure visiting you's, the place was clean and
tidy, was able to park right close to where i was fishing from,
and staff were on hand to give tips and advice. Thank you all
very much and look forward to seeing you folks again very
soon.Keep up the good work.

Hi
thought I would send you some pics of my son Charlie after our 1st
session on puma lake .we had a terrific time with Charlie smashing
his PB twice most of our fish were caught on dynamite baits tiger
nuts with a few taken on mainline fusion. these were mainly fished
in the margins by the reed beds.most of the fish were in the single
figure bracket with a very varied selection of fish being ghosties,
commons, mirrors , kois and also a couple of tench but the
highlight of the trip was Charlie catching his new PB of 20lb and 8
oz wow what a fight that one put up and great action for a 7 year
old . i also had to get in on the heavy weight action with a 25lb
6oz mirror myself.the action was fast and furious with 2 fish in the
nets at the same time not uncommon. We will certainly be making a
trip back to monk lakes in the not to distant future.

24hrs on mallard on sunday 25th monday 26th
And another great session on Mallard!!!
On the 25+26-03-07 myself and five mates done a 24hr session,
they were Lloyd Quinn, Jim Quinn, Kieran Bell, Jon Gray, Jim
McCullough and me, Jamie Barton. We were lucky enough to have
the whole lake to ourselves, so after drawing straws for places
we were off. I think we all expected to catch through the night,
but all we had were a few line bites and plenty of duck
action. Then at about 8-30 in the morning Jim M broke his PB
with a 28lb14oz Mirror; then an hour later Jon was woken from
his bivvy with a 28lb8oz Mirror, and before he had weighed it I
was into a new PB myself with a 28lb4oz Mirror, which allowed
for a great photo opportunity with two good fish on the bank
together. Then with time gradually running out, a change of
tactics for the lucky Mr Kieran Bell saw him land a session
saving 25lb Mirror.
So all in all a good session for most, the Quinn brothers were
fishing Mallard for the first time, but theres always next time.
Thanks again, and without a doubt we'll be back soon.

My name is mark starks from croydon. i
have fished monks lake on a regular basis. on this occasion 31st of
march i was fishing bridges lake for a 24 hour session and caught
this 19lb mirror and 17lb common also 5 others up to 10lb. these may
not be the biggest fish that i have caught from monks fisheries but
i consider the fully scaled to be a real cracker. unfortunately i
dont know what my bait consists of as the other half makes it for me
and has kept the recipe a secret as it has turned out to be a real
goer. i highly recommend this fishery to the newcomer and the
specimen hunter. all the staff make you feel very welcome and are
always there to help.

I thought that I would just drop you a quick e mail to confirm our
recent catches from our latest 48 hour session on Mallard Lake.
Both myself (Matthew Elliott) and my mate (Adrian Light) had our first
fish from the lake and in turn both managed to break our British
personal bests!!
Adrian saw the first action on our first evening (22nd Sept)
when he had a 17lb catfish (his first ever catfish) which he was totally
delighted with. It was a hard fighting fish which took the best part of
ten minutes to get onto the bank. Within an hour of returning the
catfish Adrian was in again!! This time it was his British P.B, a Mirror
weighing in at 25lb. A night that Adrian will not forget in a while!!!
(pictures attached).
I had to wait a little longer for my action. In fact I was beginning to
pack away my tackle into the car on the final morning of our session
when my bite alarm gave 5 or 6 single beeps. I decided to hit it and was
soon connected with what felt like a good carp. After a short fight I
managed to slip the net under a magnificent 29lb Mirror which smashed my
British P.B!! (picture attached).
We left the lake, two very happy Anglers and look forward to returning
in the not to distant future!!!!
Kind Regards
Matthew Elliott & Adrian Light

I just thought I would let you
know about a few sessions I have had since my last e-mail, the first was
a 24hr session on Bridges on the 14+15-06-06,I was fishing alone this
time and decided to go to the very far end of the lake, I had a couple
of ghosties around the 9 or 10lb mark and a 14lb mirror before it got
dark, then a couple of small tench in the pouring hard rain made me
decide to bring one rod in through the night, the next morning started
with a few small carp, then at about 10am I had a new personal best
Mirror at 24lb12oz.
My next session was again on my
own on Bridges, on the 30-06-06, I had a few small carp to start with,
then about midday I had a 16lb8oz Mirror, and a couple of hours later I
had a 20lb4oz Mirror.
Next, on 19+20-07-06 I was
fishing with Kieran Bell, and we decided to give Mallard a try for a
24hr session. Nothing happened for the 1st few hours, then at about half
10 Kieran had a screaming run, and when he hooked it he thought he was
into a 30 or 40lb carp, but after a few minutes we started thinking
Catfish, (which neither of us had ever caught before) and were amazed
when it weighed in at only 11lb8oz. Then it was my turn, about an hour
and half later I had a 23lb12oz Mirror, then at about 1am Kieran had
another Cat at 17lb8oz, and about 4am he had another at 12lb8oz. For me,
I had to wait until nearly 11am for my next fish, this time a 23lb8oz
Mirror, an hour after that I had a 20lb 8oz Mirror, and about an hour
and half after that I had my fourth twenty of the session at 22lb8oz,
making this my best ever session by far.
Finally on 26-07-06 myself and
Kieran decided to have a day on Puma, we both had a few small carp, then
at about half one I had a mad half an hour catching a 17lb8oz Mirror, a
21lb4oz Mirror 4 small carp around the 5-7lb mark, I also had two pulled
hooks, one of them at the net, from two big doubles in that half hour
too. Also in that half hour I had both rods out of the water together 3
times, and at one stage I had a fish on each rod.
All in all some great fishing,
Thanks very much again, and hopefully plenty more to
come.

Hi my name is Brad
Shilleto from Rainham, i fished the bridges lake on Friday morning through
to Sunday evening and caught 2 x 22lb mirrors 1 x 20lb mirror 1 x 10lb
common
1 x 8lb ghost and about 10 other carp ranging from 3 - 7lb and a 5lb chub
from the second island on the right. Definitely one of my best sessions ever
thought it might be a good one to post on the net.
Thanks

My brother and I
fished Bridges Saturday. It was a really bad day weather wise with a
biting North Easterly/Easterly wind blowing - there were white
horses on the lake! We fished on a day ticket. Fished 3 rods - 1
float, 2 ledger on carp tactics. Caught 3lb chub with first cast on
double maggot. Through day, I had 5 mirrors and a common to 7lb.
Brother had a 9lb common. On Richworth Scopex Squid Liver and
Multiplex boilies with PVA bags. Nothing really big but given the
conditions an achievement. My 5 year old daughter and wife paid me a
visit (to bring hot soup!) and did not make it to the swim it was so
cold! There were plenty of guys bivvied up for the night - whether
they caught I'd be interested to find out. Will definitely be back.

Just thought i would let you know about
another great session on Bridges Lake on 3+4-05-06, with Kieran Bell. I
managed to avoid most of the small stuff for a change, only catching
about half a dozen small carp and four doubles, started the session with
a 16lb 4oz Mirror just as it was getting dark, i had a full nights sleep
for a change and woke to a 14lb 8oz Mirror at about 7am, I then had to
wait till about 3.30pm for my next decent fish, and it was well worth the
wait, my first Monks twenty (just), a Mirror right on the 20lb mark, and
i finished the session a couple of hours later with another Mirror of
19lb 2oz.
Kieran only had the one double, a 12lb 8oz
Mirror, but he did catch nearly 30 carp in total.

Hi, I had another great
session on Bridges Lake last week, a 24hr session on the 18+19-04-06 with a
couple of mates, Keiran Bell and Jon Gray. Things started good and just got
better, i had a couple of small carp before it got dark, then another couple
before bed, then from 2.30am to 6am I had another 7 carp to 11lb 8oz, and
still it just carried on, in total i had over 30 fish including Mirrors
of 16lb 4oz, 16lb 2oz , and right at the end of the day another Mirror bang
on 19lb. I did also catch a 3lb Chub on a cream cajouser boile. As for the
other 2, Keiran had about 15 carp, 10 of which were doubles, the 2 biggest
going 18lb 8oz and 18lb 14oz. Jon didnt do as well only catching 4 or 5
fish, but was happy to finish the session with a 13lb 8oz Common.
Thanks for another
great fishing trip.

Dear
Monk Lakes,
Thanks for a great day fishing, I caught a total weight of 16lb 7oz
fishing for 4 hours on the match lake. I have never caught so many
different species of fish, they included golden tench, normal tench,
barbel, mirror carp, common carp, perch, roach, bream and another
fish that I'm not too sure of.
Next
time we come could you turn down the wind speed a little.
The
breakfast sticks were nice as well

My name is Harry
Cutts from Bearsted Kent, I visited for the first time yesterday and
fished Bridges Lake with my Dad.
We had a great days fishing, I smashed my PB and so did my Dad.
All the fix were caught on Mulitplex Boilies with a ground bait of
fish pellets
I first caught a 15lb Mirror Carp, then two Mirror Carp both 19lb
followed by a 21lb Mirror Carp that is now my PB.
I also caught a 7.75lb Bream with some Tench and numerous various
smaller Carp up to 4lbs
My Dad beat his PB with a Common Carp of 11lb and also caught a
selection of other smaller fish
It really was a great day, the best we have ever had, we really look
forward to coming back as soon as we can.
Thanks for an

Had a good day on Bridges Lake Friday (07-04-06), the weather
started out very nice with a bit of sun and cloud and a gentle
easterly wind, I had a couple of friends with me (Lloyd and
James Quinn) who were feeder fishing, it was there first visit
to Monks and they were very impressed after catching almost a
fish a cast, they had small carp, bream, tench, golden tench a
couple of crucians and even a perch. I myself was carp fishing,
and had only had a few knocks on each rod when I decided to take
off my source boilie and change it for a strawberry jam one. And
within half an hour it proved to be a good move as I had a 16lb
4oz Mirror in open water at about 40 yards, that convinced me to
stick with this flavour and the same tactics for the rest of the
day. A couple of hours later I had another Mirror of about 3 or
4lb on the same rod as before. Then, even though the weather had
got cold and wet, I had another Mirror (on the same rod again)
this time weighing in at 16lb 12oz. The other two continued
catching all day too. A very satisfying day all round.
